Only your dentist can give you an accurate estimate of how much your orthodontic treatment will cost. That being said, the average costs for orthodontic treatment in Canada in the past year can give you some idea of what you can expect.
How much do braces cost, on average, in Canada?
In Canada, the average cost for braces is $5,000 to $6,000. However, some people pay as little as $3,000, and others as much as $10,000. Factors that can affect the cost of your braces include the type of braces or orthodontic devices required, the extent and type of misalignment the patient has, and the overall duration of treatment.
Cost of Braces Per Type of Treatment
While prices can vary based on the factors mentioned above, these are the average costs associated with the following orthodontic treatments:
- Traditional metal braces: $3,000 - 7,000
- Ceramic braces: $4,000 - 8,000
- Lingual braces: $8,000 - 10,000
- Invisalign: $4,000 - 7,400
How much do braces cost per month?
Once your dentist has provided you with an estimate for the cost of your orthodontic treatment, it's easy to determine how much you'll pay each month.
Simply divide the estimate number by the projected number of months you'll be undergoing treatment.
For example, if your estimate is for $5,000, and your treatment will last for about 24 months, your monthly cost for braces will be about $208.
How much do braces cost with insurance?
The answer to this question will depend on how much of your orthodontic treatment your insurance provider will cover. To find out, contact our insurance provider, or if you are covered through your employer, talk to your human resources department.
